Qismat
  • The global agenda has never been so varied, so pressing or so complex. It demands of the international community new approaches, new resources and new commitments of commercial and political will. We cannot wait for governments to do it all.

    Kofi Annan

Former Secretary General of the United Nations

  • There is a clear and present need for rethinking development economics and questioning our prevailing paradigms. We need to pursue unconventional and locally-attuned solutions.

    Robert Zoellick

Former President of the World Bank

  • Research shows that countries which receive foreign aid grow considerably slower that those who don’t. They don’t have to deal with the strings which often come attached with aid and are allowed to grow organically.

    William Easterly

    Former World Bank Economist

  • If we can find approaches that meet the needs of the poor in ways that generate profits for business and votes for politicians, we will have found a sustainable way to reduce inequity in the world. This task is open-ended. It can never be finished. But a conscious effort to answer this challenge will change the world.

    Bill Gates

Former Chairman of Microsoft and Co-Chair
of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation

  • I would struggle to find an example of a country whose progress and success were more in Britain's national interest than were those of Pakistan.

    David Cameron

    Former UK Prime Minister

  • The floods in Pakistan is the greatest humanitarian crisis the United Nations has responded to in its 65-year history, with more people affected than the South-East Asian tsunami and the recent earthquakes in Kashmir and Haiti combined.

In pursuing our development agenda, Qismat works with implementing partners and projects that are in line with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.

In terms of fund allocation, Qismat funds projects that are in line with our three core development goals of Humanitarianism, Development and Philanthropy which are geared to continue progress towards global prosperity, health, inclusivity and sustainability. Within the Sustainable Development Goals, we have earmarked funds and resources which support a wide range of projects and implementing partners.

As such, Qismat has been established so we can provide funding and work in coordination with international and national non-governmental organisations. We are especially keen to work with locally attuned grass-roots organisations with innovative project ideas that can apply for funding through Qismat Fund.

In order to apply for funding, please download our Qismat Funding Request Form and provide the following information:

  • State how long the organisation has been working in the country and the primary geographic locations.
  • Provide a brief profile of activities and achievements.
  • Attach details of relevant NGO registration/accreditation with the relevant Government Ministry.
  • Show at least three (3) relevant projects of comparable size and complexity carried out by your agency in the last five years using the template.
  • Better funding for a brighter future
